A tumor or a malignant growth that is caused by an uncontrollable and abnormal division of cells is known as a cancer. When this cancer occurs in the urinary bladder, it is known as bladder cancer. The cancer of colon is known as bowel cancer. Both, a carcinoma of the colon or bladder are extremely dangerous and require immediate medical attention.

The cancer of the bladder includes several types of malignant growths in the urinary bladder of the human body. A bladder cancer is a disease in which uncontrollable multiplication of the abnormal cells takes place in the bladder. The bladder is a muscular, hollow organ that stores the liquid wastes or the urine of the body.

The bowel cancer or the carcinoma of the colon is the cancer of the rectum or colon. It arises from the cells which line the bowel. There are a number of symptoms that can lead to a colon cancer. Age is one of the primary risk factors of bowel cancer. Even though age is not related directly, yet by the age of fifty, one out of four people suffer from cancer cell development.

Another risk factor that leads to the carcinoma of the colon is alcohol. It is not that all alcohol is bad. As a matter of fact, wine shows protective effects. It is alcohol which appears to be the root cause of bowel cancer. Distilled spirits like vodka, bourbon and gin are mainly associated to increase the risk of colon cancer. Smoking is also likely to induce the risk of colon cancer, so its advisable to quit smoking.

Studies have concluded that dependency on insulin also contributes to the carcinoma of the colon. In fact, diabetics are more likely to develop a bowel cancer than non-diabetics.

Both the diseases, be it carcinoma of the colon or bladder, are extremely malignant and dont show symptoms until a later stage. Therefore, it is always advisable to go for regular screenings to check the development of the cells of carcinoma.
